Treatment of Rosacea

Rosacea is the commonly used name given to the small red veins on the face. At the Clinique De Varices Dr Maxime Goyette, we treat rosacea by sclerosing injections or by electrocautery. We perform the same type of treatment on the legs. Contact us directly with your questions.

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea refers to small, permanently dilated reddish vessels in the face, usually on the cheeks, nose or chin.

The risk factors for rosacea are family predisposition, exposure to the sun, having a fair complexion or having an inflammatory skin condition.

Certain factors can increase the appearance of these vessels such as exposure to the sun without protection, spicy food, red wine, extreme temperatures (hot or cold), or cosmetics that irritate or dehydrate the skin.

The application of sun protection creams and the use of skin moisturizing products are very important in preventing the recurrence of rosacea in the future.
